Fridays and Sundays in May, 1PM-5PM
In celebration of Me Made May we are opening our sewing studio for you to work on building your handmade wardrobe with the support of one of our knowledgeable staff. We are offering 8 sewing sessions during the month of May.
The cost to reserve your spot in a 4-hour Supported Sewing Studio session is $50. On the day of your session you will receive a $50 store credit, which is good for 30 days. Store credit will only be issued on the day of your session and 'no shows' forfeit their store credit. Our normal class policies also apply.
Supported Sewing Studio sessions are here for you to work on your project in our fully equipped studio. Come join us for the afternoon and take advantage of our large cutting tables, pressing station, and fleet of sewing machines and sergers!
During this sewing session, a dedicated staff person will be present to help you get set up, answer questions, and troubleshoot any machine issues. During studio time, participants are expected to work independently at their own pace with staff available to help as needed while attending to other participants as well.
Our focus and knowledge is on garment and accessory sewing so we intend for this session to be used to work on those types of projects to build your handmade wardrobe.
Here are some guidelines for Supported Studio Sewing:
- Participants should choose a commercially produced pattern to work from (we are always happy to give suggestions!)
- Staff can help with basic adjustments to the pattern, but this is not a class for fitting or tailoring
- We will not be "cloning" existing garments
- We will not be working on home decor or quilting projects
You may bring your own machine or use a EWE studio machine.
During Open Studio Sewing you will have access to our entire studio space;
- sewing machines
- sergers
- cutting tables
- pressing station with steam irons
- all of the sewing and cutting tools you will need
Please note this session is for adults only.
Skills needed:
- you need to feel confident using a regular sewing machine
- you need to have some understanding of the project you want to sew
Materials: *
- bring any materials you need from home
- we should have all of the extra notions you might need in the shop
Preparation required:
In order to use your studio time efficiently, you may want to complete the steps of your project up to the point in which you require some support.
Please familiarize yourself with our class policies before enrolling.
