EWE began in December 2016 as a small yarn shop dedicated to sourcing the finest in domestic fiber goods, yarns, and handmade tools. From the beginning, our curated selection has always reflected our goal of supporting the domestic fiber industry, from working with local farmers and dyers on specialty yarns to partnering with companies who are working to sustain and expand ethical fiber production in the U.S.

In 2018-19, we expanded to offer garment fabrics, sewing supplies, and a larger makers lounge and sewing studio to support our growing local community. While we are sure you will find what you need for all sorts of fiber projects here, we are particularly dedicated to providing the materials, tools, and instruction you need to create your own handmade wardrobe. We believe the slow process of creating durable pieces from quality, natural materials with your own hands encourages self-care, self-reflection, and community-building.

Because none of us has formal training in knitting or sewing, we are committed to accessible instruction, guided by the philosophy that anyone can learn to make their own clothing! At the heart of our shop is a group of folks experimenting, learning, and supporting each other in their own making journeys.
