The fabric comes to us in 5.25 yard pieces so any yardage longer than that has to be cut in multiple pieces.
We are obsessed with this beautiful, unique fabric from Merchant & Mills. This layered cotton has a jacquard weave that gives it a quilted look and feel, but the inside of the cloth is filled with cotton yarns instead of batting, giving the fabric just the right amount of squish with great recovery. The reverse is a gauzy cotton, soft and warm to the touch.
It is perfect for jackets or vests, or a simple cold-weather dress or smock (it would be so cute in York Pinafore by Helen's Closet).
If possible we would advise overlocking raw edges before sewing to prevent fraying.
There may be some white slubs throughout the cloth, these are not flaws.
There may also be color graduation over the piece.
*Due to the way this fabric comes to us, we are not always able to cut swatches. We will do our best to accommodate your swatch request so you can at least get a feel for the fabric.
We cut in 1/4 yard increments. The amount available refers to how many quarter yard increments we have in stock.
To choose the amount you want enter the number of quarter yard increments you need (rest assured we will cut your cloth in one piece). Example: If you would like 2.5 yards, enter "10" in the box.
