At EWE, we strive to foster a making community that values diversity and practices inclusion, because we believe creativity is best-realized when makers share skills and build community across differences, and not in spite of differences. We do our best to not discriminate on the basis of race, age, body size or ability, gender or gender expression, sexuality, religion, or immigrations status.

We host a weekly free Makers Circle and we offer a series of free knitting and sewing skill building workshops called EWE School.

We recognize that some groups are more historically-marginalized in the fiber arts world than others, and that, as a local yarn and fabric shop, it is our responsibility to heed their voices and actively work to change our business and making practices to better serve them.

To that end, we invite collaborations with designers, yarn dyers, and other fiber artists that specifically aim to rectify these historical inequalities.

We offer discounted fabric for pattern testers for companies with inclusive (plus-size) size ranges and discounted yarn for test knitters from historically-marginalized groups (BIPOC). If you would like to receive a discount for either of these purposes, please email the shop at info@ewefibers and tell us about the test sew or knit that you want to work on.

Thank you for helping us build a greater, more empowered and empowering makers community.

    Sincerely,

Deren & the EWE Fibers Family
