A tightly woven, sturdy and rather weighty 100% cotton canvas. The tight and dense weave makes it lightly water repellent.

The weight of this fabric, at 17 oz/sq yard, is probably at the limit of what most home sewing machines can handle. We have sewn with it using our machines and found it perfectly fine. You may want to use a thicker thread or double your normal sew-all thread. You definitely need to use a denim or heavy duty needle. Take it slow over, or hand crank over thick areas where many seams overlap. There is no need to interface this fabric so skip that step if your pattern calls for it.
