Paynter Jacket Co. make limited edition jackets four times a year that are made to order, so there's no waste from over production. Their jackets are classic pieces that will stand the test of time and get better with age. The Field Jacket is Paynter's first make-your-own jacket pattern in collaboration with Merchant & Mills.
All paper patterns will include two woven labels, one is to be positioned inside the jacket near the hip and the other is a smaller label for the back neck. The larger label has been designed by @hello.ludio. Lucie’s design features the sun and the moon to represent time and getting lost in the practice of making. These labels are only available in the paper pattern and won’t be sold elsewhere.
For a slightly easier make M&M has published a few videos, one for help sewing the, "Tricky Bits" and another for making A Patch Pocket Hack
All seam allowances are 1.5cm unless stated otherwise and are included in the pattern.
Size XS-XXL
Skill level; Advanced.
Requires x3 spools of 100M thread.
7-12oz denim, wool, cotton twill or canvas. NB. There are 9 layers to sew through during the pocket construction so check the fabric selected to make sure the machine can work with this thickness.
When sewing heavy fabric and multiple layers using a clapper and a seam jig can be very helpful.
