The Sandhill Sling is a versatile bag perfect for everyday use, as well as travel and adventuring. The main compartment is roomy with lots of space for your everyday essentials, and features an elasticized interior pocket to keep smaller things contained- perfect for a travel knitting project! The zippered front pouch is the perfect place for stashing your phone and keys while on the go.
This project is a fun sew, but definitely has a few advanced elements. It's appropriate for an intermediate sewist who has some familiarity with bag making and zipper insertion. For the bag exterior we used
Merchant & Mills Dry Organic Cotton Oilskin, but also recommend
Big Sur canvas. For the interior, we used a printed cotton/linen,
Essex would be suitable, as would any
Fableism fabric.Â
