We are smitten with the newest release from our friends at Sew Liberated. The Missive Bag is a sweet little bag to carry a few essentials where ever you wander. The bag is perfect for remnants, and we've created a notions bundle that includes all the materials you need to sew the Missive Bag except for fabric! We sewed our sample Bookhou Gather Flowers Linen Cotton.

- 0.75 yards SF 101 interfacing (20" wide)
- 7" #4.5 Nylon Coil Long Pull Zip
- 1.75 yards 1" 100% Cotton Webbing
- (2) 1/2" D-Rings
- (1) 1" Adjustable rectangle slider
- (2) 1" Swivel Hook
- (1) 3/4" Invisible Magnetic Snap
- Heavy Duty Sewing Machine Needle
Please note that the sewing pattern must be purchased separately from Sew Liberated.
A few tips for working with heavier fabrics are to use Sewing Clips instead of pins (much easier to maneuver on the thicker layers) and a Jean-a-ma-jig for help evening out your presser foot while sewing.
We also have found using Sewing Clips and a Jean-a-Ma-Jig to be extremely helpful when working with the heavier weight fabrics you often encounter with bag making!
