Pattern Details:
The Pinyon Pants are a fun take on a wide leg pant. The fitted waistband, fly front with button closure, and back darts level this pattern as an intermediate sew. The wide leg silhouette and variety of carpenter style pockets to choose from give you plenty of opportunities to make your own unique pair of pants.Â
Our Sewing Experience:
Jessamy was a tester for this pattern and sewed her pair in our Bleached Indigo Wash. She made View A in size 6 with minimal changes for her personal fit preferences. We love this soft comfortable denim for this pattern. It lends just the right amount of structure, while keeping the pants comfortable and easy to move about it, best of all it is easy to sew. Like most 100% cotton twills, this denim does have a tendency to grow slightly with wear, so keep that in mind as you are choosing sizes. We strongly recommend making a muslin for these pants, to get the fit in the waist and hips just right. They should be fitted, but with room to move about and work in throughout the day.
The two different views give lots of pocket options and with that comes plenty of opportunities for tops stitching (one of our favorite sewing steps!) We have included a spool Gutermann Extra Strong thread in this bundle, which is our favorite thread for topstitching.
