We are very excited to add a few select yarns from Retrosia Rosa Pomar to our shop offerings.
Mondim is a non-superwash fingering weight yarn made from fine Portuguese wool. It is named after a portuguese village once famous for its sock knitting cottage industry. Shades 100 and 300 are natural (not dyed).
Most batches of Mondim are exclusively made from the wool of native Campaniça sheep.
Please note: variegated shades are made in a machine but in a very artisanal manner. This results in variation between batches. We recommend buying enough yardage for your project at once.

All the yarns are minimally processed and animal friendly. Rosa Pomar yarns are non superwash, not bleached and have no silicone based softeners. The woolen-spun yarns contain traces of vegetable matter. All wool comes from free range sheep. Mulesing is not practiced in Portugal.
