The weather is heating up and summer knitting is all about linen. We stock great linen yarns from Quince & Co along with wonderful patterns for wearable wardrobe staples. Choose to knit in Kestrel, an aran weight which flies off the needles or the delicate Sparrow with beautiful stitch definition and subtle sheen.
How does the KAL work?
KAL stands for knit along. In a KAL knitters typically knit the same or similar project. During the KAL, knitters get support to help navigate any tricky parts, learn a new skill, or trouble shoot along the way. The format is informal, so it is possible to join in at any time and it is not necessary to attend every knitting session.
There is no cost to participate in the KAL, other than the purchase of the pattern and yarn for your project. We stock a good supply of both Kestrel and Sparrow in a range of colors to choose from.
If you have not already done so, sign-up for our customer program and earn rewards on all purchases.
The KAL will begin on Monday June 26 and meet weekly for 5 weeks (June 26, July 3, 10, 17 & 24 from 6PM to 8PM. This is not a class but there will be an instructor at each session to answer questions, or help with any issues that crop up. We also have a lot of fun and the meetings are quite social.
You do not need to come each week, and you can start your project at any point during the KAL. If you can't make it on Monday evening, you can come knit your project at either of our weekly Makers Circles.
If you plan to join the Linen KAL on Monday evening, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or just add the KAL to your cart and check out (you will not be charged anything). We will need at least 3 knitters for the Monday evening meeting in order to have the KAL go forward.
The best way to find the perfect project is to visit Ravelry. If you have not already done so we highly recommend joining. Search for patterns knit with Kestrel or Sparrow. If you want help selecting a pattern, come into the shop. We can work with you to find the perfect project.
