Deren's Hallon Dress is sewn in a summery check yarn dyed European Linen from Merchant and Mills in the UK. The linen is absolutely stunning with a perfect weight for good coverage (even without a bra). The fabric has great texture and is a dream to wear. We love linen for it's eco credentials and this is some of the best linen fabric on the market.
Pattern sized to fit:
Bust: sewing B-cup up to 49" or sewing D-cup up to 51"
Hip: up to 53" with 18.5" of ease.

Details:
Shop owner Deren is wearing view A of the Hallon Dress, in the Frankie Blue Laundered Linen. We think the gathered back is what really makes this dress so special and our bundle includes enough fabric to sew View A. The back is a bit daring but the high neck and underarm coverage makes the dress feel very comfortable and not too exposed. Deren loved the silhouette of the dress but was not sure she could pull it off on her 57 year old body. After sewing and wearing, the final opinion is that the dress is very wearable and comfortable for her.
View B has no gathering and fits closer to the back with less ease in the hips and side slits.
Deren's sizing information:
Deren is 5' 1" tall and is wearing the size 6 - B-cup. Deren removed 6" total from the length of the dress (2.5" from the back and 3.3" from the hem). Deren's upper bust is 35" her full bust is 36" and her hip is 39". Deren also gathered the back a little more to reduce any gaping.
Note on sewing with checkered linen:
The pattern repeat is small, 5mm, and the only place where matching could be an issue is at the side seams. Deren took a laissez faire approach to matching the pattern at the side seams (as in she didn't) and is perfectly happy with the results
