Saturday, April 27, 10AM – 11AM
This class will take place at our shop, EWE Fibers, in Charlottesville, Virginia. The class is not available online. While this class is free, please only sign up if you can commit to attending! If you are not sure, consider leaving the space for someone else.
While many patterns come with directions to sew specific types of seams, the ultimate decision is the sewist's, and there are so many options that all serve different purposes! Whether you are looking for simple, pragmatic ways to finish seam allowances to prevent fraying, or you are hoping to change the way a seam appears from the outside of the piece, or even if you just want to add some pizzazz on the inside of your garment, this workshop will give you the inspiration and resources to expand your seaming arsenal!
Unlike some of our other EWE Schools, this is not a hands-on workshop. We recommend bringing something to take notes, because we will be showing examples, providing resources, and demonstrating techniques (but participants will not sew anything themselves). The techniques covered include: French seams, flat-felled seams, Hong Kong seams, serging, and pinking.
No preparation required.
Please familiarize yourself with our class policies before enrolling.
