Now that all of the gift knitting is done, January is the time to start something for yourself. With the cold temperatures we are thinking about warm sweaters with a relaxed shape. We are calling this the 'Eazey' KAL since the focus is on sweaters with a good amount of ease. If you like, now is the time to knit with heavier weight yarn, so the sweater simply flies off the needles.
We have put together a list of 'Eazey' patterns to consider. There are different styles, construction, yarn weight and skill level but each is worn with a good amount of ease. Check them out or feel free to choose any other pattern you like.
Mondays 6PM-8PM: January 15, 22, 29 & February 5, 12
How does the KAL work?
KAL stands for knit along. In a KAL knitters typically knit the same or similar project. During the KAL, knitters get support to help navigate any tricky parts, learn a new skill, or trouble shoot along the way. The format is informal, so it is possible to join in at any time and it is not necessary to attend every knitting session.
The KAL is not a class but there will be an instructor (and other experienced knitters) at each session to answer questions, or help with any issues that crop up. We also have a lot of fun and the meetings are quite social.
There is no cost to participate in the KAL, other than the purchase of the pattern and yarn for your project. We stock a good supply of yarns for almost any pattern you choose.
If you have not already done so, sign-up for our customer program and earn rewards on all purchases.
You do not need to come each week, and you can start your project at any point during the KAL. If you can't make it on Monday evening, you can come knit your project at either of our weekly Makers Circles.
The best way to find the perfect project is to visit Ravelry. If you have not already done so we highly recommend joining.
If you want to participate in the KAL please add it to your cart and check out (there is no charge). This helps us keep track of how many knitters to expect.
