Have you ever decided not to sew a pattern because the measurements of different parts of your body accorded with different sizes in the pattern? Grading between sizes is an essential tool in any sewist's arsenal, because patterns sizes come in a wide range of proportions — just like bodies! In this class, we'll provide some general rules of thumb for grading between pattern sizes and demonstrate the process on a few different types of patterns.
If you have a pattern in mind that you would like to be able to grade, print the directions and bring it to class. Make sure that the directions you print include: 1) the sizing chart for the pattern, and 2) the page(s) of the directions that has a picture of all the pattern pieces.
You do NOT need to bring a copyshop print copy of the actual pattern. Only the directions.
Please familiarize yourself with our class policies before enrolling.
