Class Description:
Do you love knitting, but have always been intimated by socks? Or maybe socks have just felt too tricky to tackle on your own. This sock class will help you conquer your fears! In this class you will learn the basic construction of a cuff down sock. We will start with a ribbed cuff, work down the leg, do a traditional heel flap and gusset, knit the foot and finish with grafting the toes with the kitchener stitch. You will be working in the round, magic looping on a 40” cable.
Class will meet over three sessions, with homework to be completed in between each session. The class break down is as follows:
Session 1 will go over the anatomy of a sock, measuring for a good fit, casting on and working in magic loop. Homework will be to knit the leg portion of your sock.
Session 2 will focus on the heel. We will work the heel flap, turn the heel and begin work on the gusset. Homework will be to continue working on the foot of your sock.
