Shop owner Deren sewed both the dress and top versions. Both will definitely see her through the fall with pants or leggings underneath and a cozy sweater or wrap thrown on top.
Details:
Deren sewed her dress (version #3 - mid-length) in our Latte color Athena solid linen and her top (version #1) in Black Athena solid linen. It is a wonderful crinkle linen with subtle texture and a nice weight (4.42 oz/sq yd). The pattern is sewn with raglan sleeves, gathered at the wrist and patch pockets (for the dress). There is a simple button closure at the neckline (without a button hole) and the pattern can be sewn in 3 different lengths, top, knee length or mid length hems.
Notes on sizing:
Deren is 5'1" tall and sewed a size 8 to fit her 36" bust in both the top and dress. In order to achieve a mid-length dress she shortened the skirt by 3". The top is sewn with no modifications at all. There is a good amount of ease in the pattern, so depending on your personal preference you may chose to sew down one size. Finished garment measurements are provided to help you make a decision about how much ease you want in your garment.
