Making Magazine issue 11 / Dawn is full of great projects but the Makers Project Bag really caught our eye. Since we are firm believers that you can never have too many project bags, we quickly whipped up a sample and declared it a winner!
Our exclusive project bundle includes all the material and notions you need to sew one Makers Project Bag (either size). The pattern for this bag is contained within the pages of Making Issue 11 / Dawn, so you will need a copy of the magazine to complete the project.
You can select to purchase the bundle with or without the magazine included.
- cotton canvas for the bottom and base
- dyed cotton/linen fabric for the top
- natural color cotton/linen fabric for the lining and interior pockets
- waxed cotton cord for the drawstring
- buckram interfacing to line the bottom canvas
- 4 wood beads
- EWE stitch marker
Bag shown is the smaller version. The bags sizes are the same diameter the larger one is 2" taller.
We used a sew-in buckram to make the bottom of the bag stiff enough to stand up. This is optional and you can sew the bag without it. We did not apply the interfacing to the round base piece as we found it too stiff to sew properly.
Instead of knotting the cord ends we added wood beads to the end of the cords.
