Pattern Details:
The Joanie Top pattern features a camp collar or shawl collar, combining fun, 50s style with the comfort of a modern fit. Choose a classic placket cuff shirt sleeve or breezy short sleeves. With thoughtful details like a fully finished yoke, princess seams in the back, and two hem lengths, Joanie is a timeless closet staple.
This version is sewn in our Jubilee, a lovely sandwashed cotton with a gentle crepe texture. We love this fabric and pattern pairing, as Jubilee is light weight and easy to sew with, making it perfect for year round wear.
Our Sewing Experience:
Jessamy chose to sew View A of the Joanie Top, the short sleeve, slightly cropped split hem. She sewed the size 4 for her 33" bust, with no modifications. Like all Sew Liberated patterns the instructions are detailed and easy to follow. They walk you through attaching the collar and facings, sewing the fully inclosed yoke using the "burrito method" and how to perfectly place your buttons based on your wearing preference. We love this top sewn in our Jubilee cotton which is easy to sew with and a joy to wear.
