*Shop owner Deren is wearing the Gloam by Caitlin Hunter. This is a versatile sweater for any wardrobe. Deren is wearing the size 2 (48.75") with 12.75" of ease. She used less yardage than the pattern called for in this size, 3.5 skeins, despite being exactly on gauge.
It has a perfect neutral palette using only the natural tones from the fleeces themselves. The lightest shade, Quartz 01, is a creamy ivory, subtly flecked with black fiber for added interest and texture. Quartz 02 is spun from a beautiful variety of silver and brown fleeces, creating a heather yarn with subdued warmth and slight variegation. The deepest gradient color, Quartz 03, is a rare bird in millspun yarn: A deep charcoal created from black and silver fleeces to make an onyx yarn, with enough texture and silver for stitch definition to shine.
To this natural neutral pallet Stone Wool has added some beautifully dyed neutral shades.
This Romney and Merino yarn is versatile in its application. The long staple length of Romney wool creates a drape and slink to finished knits, making it a wonderful yarn for open summery cardigans, flowing shawls, and hearty pullovers. Feel free to experiment with large needles well beyond the standard range for DK weight yarn.
